Unexpected Snow Day!

This morning we woke up to find at least 4 more inches of snow added to the previous day's dump/blizzard.  Scott went out to the end of the driveway and found that the wind had shifted and would've made travel to town quite dangerous.  That's added to the fact that we couldn't even get the cars out of the driveway.  There were travel warnings for Hwy 21, so we called people to let them know we wouldn't be having church in town today.  We had some popcorn preachers at our house.  For those of you who haven't heard of it, it's several speakers that each take about 5-10 minutes to teach or preach on a certain passage from the Bible.  Garrison started with Jonah:) and Caleb picked Noah.  Very interesting speakers, those two:).  Then Scott taught us another lesson on the lives of Moses, Aaron and Miriam.  Elyssia didn't want to have leprosy, which is what Miriam had for speaking out against Moses.  Kiersten was a willing victim and found it rather amusing to get spots.  Pictures will be posted below.  Part of his sermon was on being a wise person and fearing(or respecting what God can do).  I missed part of it because of Kiersten's fussing.  She's getting a molar and it's making her quite cranky at times.  I really don't have much to give her, so she's just letting us know that it hurts.
After lunch we went outside to dig a snow tunnel.  Kiersten went out for a nap and the rest of had quite the adventure.  Scott was out, but when he headed back in for something, Sam took the opportunity to try to tackle me.  The snow is several feet deep and there are a lot of places to sink into.  He caught me in one and was trying to sit on top of me.  Caleb was crying, til I wrapped Sam with my legs and tipped him over.  I had to pin him til Scott came out.  There's a first time for everything and I was thankful for my snow suit.  I bought it when we first moved to Kindersley, but the first two winters were so mild that I never wore it.  Okay, so by mild I mean not a lot of snow.  It was bitterly cold during those two winters, but I didn't see the need for using the snow suit.  I hadn't worn one since we went skiing and I had forgotten how warm they keep you.  Until someone throws snow in your face or down your front:).  Anyway, we had a lot of fun and I hope you enjoy the pics.  After a warm cup of cocoa we're all ready for a little nap.  Too bad Kiersten already had hers.  The adults will just have to take turns:).

getting the leprosy spots applied...

They've multiplied!  Good thing it's just flour and water:)

"She looks so pretty," remarked Garrison.

"like a goat..." he continued:)  Just like a brother...

Stuffing his face with a banana.

Typical Garrison-Ready for church.

Heading out...

These are the biggest drifts I've seen around here.

My turn to dig:)

Elyssia shoveled until she had a snow slide.

Bringing out some chunks of snow.

Caleb was singing, "I'm the king of the castle and you're a dirty rascal."

The kids burying me in the snow.  It was okay until Sam licked me in the eye.  Nasty:(.!

Garrison enjoying his cocoa.

Caleb enjoying his marshmallows:).

My hair got pretty curly after all the snow got in.  Recognize the sweatshirt Carolyn?  He's had it since a couple days after we got married:)  Good thing he got me an electric blanket to replace it:))).

Pretty busy for only being the middle of the day. I'm hoping they can clear some of the roads by tomorrow night so that we can have the Ladies Meeting.  If not, I guess we'll enjoy another day with Scott.  More tunnel digging and cocoa. Yummm...
