The Miracle of Life

Today I saw this:

A tiny little miracle growing inside.  I'll never cease to be amazed by how God created us and chose to have us reproduce.  The blessing of seeing the little one at such an early stage.  This is our baby's first picture at 10 wks and 6 days.  Weighing in at about an ounce.  Comparable to the weight of my wedding ring!  It's amazing how the little heart is beating at 151 beats per minute.  The little arms were waving and the little legs were kicking.  The ultrasound tech said that he thought the baby had hiccups too:).  SO Amazing! Yes, this is the confirmation that there is only one little person inside, but one that certainly knows how to make waves inside.  The ultrasound tech asked me 3 times what I would choose to be if I could be anything in the world that I wanted to be.  My response was:A wife and mother.  The 3rd time, it was "Yes, I'm serious, that's what I'd really choose. Sickness and all, we're so blessed to have these little ones around. The due date is November 27th.  It's not very likely that I'll have the baby that exact day, but if I do it's will share a Birthday with my oldest nephew, Brandon.  If the baby is born on the 19th it will share a Birthday with my mom and at least one of my childhood friends.  Whatever day, there will be much rejoicing:).  Much thankfulness too, since 1 baby means we won't be in the market for another vehicle.

A couple of the names suggested by the kids:
Elyssia's:
Zachariah, Matthew, Henry
Esther, Ruth or Rose Red
Garrison's:
Giraffe, Marty, Pete and Repeat, Alexander, Peter, Jack and Michael

So, I'm going to try to enjoy a bit of the sunshine this afternoon, even if it is on the couch having a bit of a nap.

  1. Oh I like Zachariah. After we found out Millie was a girl I wanted to name her Esther but Paul didn't like the name. Maybe if we adopt again I can name her Esther unless of course you pick the name:) Oh yeah and Millies bday is Nov 17.
