Brother/Sister Author team?

Garrison usually tries to help Caleb out with his stories, but today it was Elyssia and Garrison sharing.  I had to remind them to be quiet several times so that each person could make up their own names, etc...  Here are two of the most creative stories so far:

                                                   "The Bad Pirate"         By: Elyssia
Her inspiration
Once upon a time there was a pirate, named One Leg.  A crocodile had eaten the other leg and the pirate was angry.  He stole Princess Hippo and Sir Gallup, the Knight.  One Leg put them in his jail cell.  He was going to feed them to the crocodiles!  The Knight got the lock open, tip toed out and went up onto the deck.  He got One Leg and threw him into the sea, where a shark ate him.
Sir Gallup and Princess Hippo sailed on the pirate ship to Newfoundland, their home.  He married her, then he kissed her. (Garrison said, "yuck!" when she said this part:)
                                                           The End

"The Astronaut Who Had No Friend"  By: Garrison
His inspiration
Tic Tac Tom, the Astronaut, lived in space.  He felt sad because he had no friends.  One day he flew to the Old West in his rocket ship.  He met Patch, the dog, and Tic Tac Tea, the cowboy!  He learned to lasso from his new friend.  Then he went back to space to lasso the moon.  When he went back to visit his friend he lassoed the sun because he didn't like it shining in his face.  He threw it in the trash.  The dump truck took the sun away.  He left it at the dump and the dirt squished it.  A good Knight came along, rescued the sun and flicked it up into the Old West sky with his sword.
                                                        The End

I think their imaginations were working overtime because it took the older two quite a while to fall asleep tonight.  It was a pretty fun day, but tomorrow should be even better because I won't have so much straightening up to do.
Elyssia was calling me Queen Mommy today.  I really didn't care for it and told her to stop.  Caleb piped up, "why, cause it hurts your feelings?"  He must be sympathizing.  Lately he's been the one thinking up names to call others, but doesn't really like it when the tables are turned and he's the recipient of silly names.

Devotions = Jonathan and his armor bearer.
Jonathan(Left) and the armor bearer(right)

I think the little guy is having trouble holding onto those shields.

He's acquired a red hat and he's run off!

Kiersten enters the scene at this point, intent on stealing the cape!

Jonathan watches as his Armor bearer is kidnapped by the mama and taken to bed...

I've been wanting to paint for the past week, but was either too busy or too tired.  Thanks to having a nap this afternoon, I was able to outlast the kids and stay up to paint tonight.  Here is the finished product:
I really like how the trees turned out.  The house didn't turn out quite right, but I was pleased with some of the colors I mixed.  I think it would be neat to build a lighthouse out here on the prairies:).

I'll leave you with a couple pictures of our budding young authors, minus the one who went to bed early:).
Still excited about their stories.

Telling me what he's going to write about next!
