Happy Helpers

Today all the extra chores were a lot more fun. I had volunteers to help with almost everything and pleas of, "Can we do this lots of days?"  The school day seemed to fly by and we accomplished almost everything on our to do list.  I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking, as usual:).
Notice the meat Caleb has, he's probably making sure it doesn't get lost with all the cleaning:).

They LOVED helping clean the fridge!

This is the cleanest it's been since we bought it:)

It's reasonably full.

A great looking fridge thanks to Christmas pics and Picnik.

Garrison took all the grapes off the stem after I washed them.

It snowed all day today...

Elyssia licking the cookie bowl while doing schoolwork:).

Yummy!

3 helpers for this load of laundry!

Kiersten thought her baby needed a bath in the hard boiled egg water.

We managed to get the freezer clean and organized:).

Caleb got all the clothes out of the dryer and hauled up the basket by HIMSELF!

We had a picnic supper.  Delicious!  I made sour cream biscuits for the first time, put it together with fried ham.  mmmm.  All the eggs were eaten and most of the grapes too.  We had homemade apple juice and cookies to finish it off.  Nice reward for a day of hard work!

Devotions(Scott is Goliath, G-David.)

G kept pushing C away.  Caleb said, I'll beat up the Giant:).

Caleb is one of the brothers in this one.  He's sharing some of the food with Elyssia.

Trying on the armor(Baby was watching everything very intently).

My turn to try on the helmet!

His 5 "grape" stones.

Good shot!

Not a nice way to end...

No head?

Elyssia's turn to be Goliath. I wish I had sound.  She had a very convincing mean laugh.

The 3 "brothers" are scared!

Enter Caleb a.k.a. David, "what's up guys?"

I will defeat you!

This doesn't fit!

His stones...

His sling has emptied...

Goliath has been slain(or is cowering, cause she's not good at playing dead:)

He had more of a sawing motion, than a swift chop.  Future carpenter?

All in all, it was quite a good day.  We have fresh banana muffins ready for breakfast tomorrow and bacon ready to be fried.  I'm not sure if that's a good combination, but add some scrambled eggs and milk and it sounds good to me!
I'll finish off the post with Garrison's story from today:

"Wiffy The Parrot"   By: Garrison Holloway

A long time ago Wiffy, the parrot, visited his uncle elephants Jack, Indian and Shoemaker.  the oldest one was the shoemaker and he made some shoes for Wiffy.  Indian gave him a tepee and Jack gave him a pogo stick.  Wiffy put the tepee on top of the mountain and didn't go to sleep, he just read books all night. he used the pogo stick to hop up onto the mountain!  Then you know what!  Jack, his uncle elephant, gave him a toy airplane, but the cockpit was so big it could fit the parrot.  Then he pushed a button that made him fly up in the air. He flew all the way home, but the second time he pushed the button it made the whole town, except his house, go on fire!  He flew away to the water hole, where the fire couldn't get him.
*most of the story was interspersed with crazy laughter. He was so excited as he made up the story that he couldn't contain himself. I wonder if he dreams this up or if ideas just run through his head all day.  The amount of time that he spends quoting books and things that he's heard takes up quite a lot of his day.  I can't even imagine how he would do if we weren't homeschooling him.  He loves to do school, but he also loves to talk.  I think they probably get it from me:) Judging from the length of most of my posts I can see how that would happen.  Oh well!  At least we're able to have quite a bit of mature conversations as well.

Caleb came in this morning and said, "I'm sorry for my sin Mommy, please forgive me."  He brought it up quite a bit and is really disturbed when Garrison tells him that he's not saved yet.  He was talking to me this afternoon and it sounded like he said, "I'm angry with you mommy because you not letting me be saved!"  Not sure what to do with that one.  I'm not holding him back, but I'm also not sure that he really understands it yet.  If he keeps bringing it up though, without our prompting, I'll be inclined to see it as the Lord convicting him.  Guess this is as good a place as any to sign off.  Night all!
