Glued to the calendar...

This month is so busy it seems like I am glued to the calendar, which is necessary in order not to forget anything.  The past couple days have been back and forth on the phone trying to figure out how to help a friend move.  Picking up boxes and delivering them, all while trying to get the house clean for the in-laws to arrive.  We did manage to get everything in tip top shape, even if there is still a load or two of laundry to complete:).  The week has gone by so quickly.  It's nice to be able to look back at some of the blog posts to remember that we did have fun, amid the whirlwind of activity.  I don't know how much I'll be posting the next couple days with the family here. These are some pics from the last couple days.
The fearless explorer...

dances with the bee.

Pretend you don't see me:)

One of Caleb's soldier pics from the other night.

We have our own sledding hill(they aren't using sleds yet).

It was a beautiful day!

Caleb is King of the Hill.

She's found a new dance partner.(I wonder if Buzz has been put in the spanish mode:)

The past two nights I didn't have as many pics of the devotions to post.  We're going through the life of Eli, his death, and then into Samuel's life.  I also have some more sketches and stories to post, but I'll save those for another day, since it's getting close to 10 here.  All in all, the Lord has been very good to us.  We're warm, well fed, our family made it here safely and the amusement around here is priceless!  Looking forward to seeing the shelves and pantry get put together tomorrow.  I'll probably dream about organizing it...

  1. You made me tired just reading about your day! I truly trust that you will have a good sleep and wake up refreshed and able to soldier through, no matter how many teeth pop up or skirts fray.

I think it would be cool to have either a polka-dotted OR a paisley patch on your poor denim skirt. Of course, a conservative pastor's wife shouldn't push it by having a combo of the two! :-)

And one last thing - I think you're pretty wonderful, how you've coped with this insanely long and difficult winter. I am so thankful that I have the privilege of knowing someone with your resilience and courage and sense of adventure.

  2. It makes me tired when I read about it too, so that makes two of us:). We really have been trying to make the best of things, no matter what the weather. Last summer and fall the mosquitoes kept us inside quite a bit, so we're determined to have fun somehow.
I'm thinking I'll have to look for a unique patch. I'm praying that I can find another one like it when we're on vacation. I find most of mine second hand, but this one has been my favorite and most comfortable fit.
Thank you for the encouraging words, there are some days that I feel like I really missed the mark, but the Lord and friends like you have a way of coming alongside and being a great encouragement.
One of these days we really will make it out your way. Sitting down with cup of tea sounds really good right now,but I'm thinking that I'd better get the kids down for a nap first.
