The excitement is growing...

The time for our departure is getting closer and closer.  We stayed up until close midnight on Sunday, planning out our exact route to Georgia and back.  We're going to see at least 10 states and 1 new province:).  We've found all kinds of fun places to stop along the way and thankfully the time is going by quickly.  The days are so full that I don't have trouble sleeping, just getting to bed early enough to get a decent amount of sleep.
Yesterday we had the morning free for schoolwork and a bit of straightening up.  Scott took the van in for an oil change, but for some reason the dealership had to reschedule. He got home around 12 and I headed out with the girls to pick up Mandy and Micah.  The trip from our house to Eatonia to Kindersley takes 45 minutes on a good day.  More like an hour yesterday, with the condition of the roads.  It was -23 out and that wasn't taking the wind chill into consideration.  We got home around 4, had a quick supper and then the whole family headed into town in two vehicles.  The kids and I went to run errands for the Ladies Meeting and Scott went to a meeting.  We met at the church around 6 and he took the kids home, while I went in to set up the church.  I wish that I had remembered to bring the camera.  It was a fun evening and we had some pretty interesting discussion afterwards, hence my late arrival home last night!  One of the ladies had a Birthday on Sunday, so my snack choice was pretty easy.  We had a Birthday cake and it was delicious.  Several ladies were out of town, but I'm pretty sure that the Lord knew who needed to be there and the discussion was okay for a smaller group.  I don't know what the kids devotion was last night:(  I'm thankful that I don't have to miss that very often.  If we hadn't had so many responsibilities yesterday we probably could have done it before I left for Ladies Meeting.  Many of the things that came up were necessary though, so I'm thankful that the Lord helped us through everything.

Our devotion was on Mary and Martha.  There are so many aspects of their lives that I'd never really thought about before.  I'm afraid that oftentimes I'm more of a Martha, than a Mary.  That's not to say that everything about Martha was bad, but it's finding the proper balance for our lives.  Taking time to be with the Lord and also to be doing those things which HE's called us to do.

I don't have a lot of pictures this time, but I'll probably make up for in the next couple days:).
Nana and Kiersten at church. A friend got this outfit for Elyssia when she was this age.  The waist is still pretty big, so I ended up changing her in between services.  It's so cute to see her wearing it though:).

Kiersten wearing Elyssia's nurse cap.

The kids think this is a great use for the lower shelf.

"I still fit"

Elyssia took a picture of the card she was working on:)

I put up the Paintings in the boys room yesterday.

I also thought this was a good way to display their "gun" collection:)  The top ones are marshmallow guns that Preston made.

I'll share more stories from today on tonight's post, but here are a couple that the kids wrote over the weekend...

                                  "Beaver's House" - Elyssia
Once there was a boy beaver.  His name was Humble.  Humble didn't have a house.  It was burned down by a hunter.  He went into the woods, got more logs and chewed them to make his home.  THis time he made the home under the water.  The hunters couldn't get this house.  They couldn't find him, so Humble lived happily ever after.

                                "The Unicorn's Horn" By Caleb
The Unicorn has 4 legs and a tail. He has spots too!  He plays with the princess.  The play flying games.  They take naps when they're tired.  Unicorns eat lettuce for a snack, not yogurt.  The princess has cookies and milk.
                                                       ---The End---

"The Knight and the Yak"  By: Garrison
Once upon a time, in the town of Cavity, lived a knight and a yak.  The Knight's name was Mack and the Yak's name was Tack.  Someone sent the knight away from the palace to get the yak.  When the king didn't need Mack, he would ride Tack to A&W.  Mack and Tack ate lots of burgers and milkshakes.  One time Tack's horn caught the button  of a guy's jacket, but Mack found another button, so it was all okay!
                                               ...The End...
(for those who don't know, A&W is Garrison's favorite restaurant:).

Well, I'd better sign off for now.  Lunch break is over and it's back to work I go...
