Tuesday Highlights

Auntie Christina french braided Elyssia's hair and gave her some hairbows!
Elyssia's bean bag pillow hat:)
We took out the seats, washed the covers and vac'd out the carpets.
The Value Village here has pretty good prices.  I think we have enough shorts for the summer now.
We found these at Big Lots.
Some new cereal to try. I didn't think it was that great, but now we know:)
Caleb found Caleigh's hiding spot!  She was laughing so hard:)
Yesterday we stayed home for the first half of the day.  It was nice to take things slower.  The van needed to be cleaned, so Scott pulled it into the garage and we pulled everything out.  The car seat covers were pretty gross, so we threw them into the washing machine.  They said to drip dry, so we put them on mom's driveway to dry in the sun.  It was beautiful yesterday, but today is overcast and they're calling for thunder storms.  We were planning to go to the Noah's Ark place, but it's a lot of outdoor stuff, so we'll wait for another day.  Elyssia had a test and got A+.  We ate lunch outside and put the kids down for a nap. After they woke up we drove over to Jason's exit to check out the Value Village, etc...  We found everything except the black shirts that the boys need for pictures on Thursday night.  Hopefully we can get them tonight or tomorrow.  We picked up pizza a little after 5 and headed to see the family.  They usually get home from school about that time, so it was pretty good timing.  Kiersten walked in so excited to be there, but then Kipper got in front of her and started licking her. That was the end of that:)  He loves her, but when you're that small the dogs seem so big.  She loves to see him, but startles easily when she thinks that he's going to get her.  Later in the evening she was getting comfortable and had a cookie.  Kipper managed to get part of it from her, so she stayed a bit closer til we left for home.  The kids played hide and seek(picture above).  Caleigh wanted Jason to hide her.  He put her on top of the dryer and it took all the other kids forever to find her.  Several even looked at eye level around the dryer:)  Caleigh was waving at me on the couch and I had a hard time not giving away her postition.  When Caleb found her it was hilarious.  He was so excited and Caleigh was laughing so hard.  It was a good thing she didn't fall off.  I think the younger ones were wondering how she got up there:).  Scott and the kids went to bed shortly after we got home. He'd gone someplace with Jason and was pretty tired.  I was tired, but stayed up with mom to talk and watch the end of a hallmark movie.  I find that it's hard to concentrate at night, so we had to split the movie into two sessions:).  Luke and his family flew in around midnight last night, so we should see them sometime tonight.  Other plans for the day include a trip to Nathan's house so the kids can play with Judah and Gideon.
The best news I have to share since we arrived is that Gideon got saved!.  He went forward on Sunday to tell the people at his church.  Judah had been talking to him a lot at bedtime and he told his mom that he had sin and needed to be saved. We're so thankful to see the Lord working in our little ones.  Elyssia and Garrison keep working on Caleb and it's amazing to see him talking about it.  We don't think he's ready yet, but he sure does know all the right words:).  11 out of mom's 13 grandkids are saved now.  Caleb and Kiersten are the last two and still quite young.  There will be much rejoicing the day they get saved:).
So, other than that, we're enjoying the time to just be together.  The boys play football and other running games with Scott.  It's nice to see them unhampered by boots:).  Scott's also had time to leisurely prepare sermons for the days ahead.  Quite a difference from his busy schedule at home.  I'm off to take a bit of a cat nap while Scott does his part of the homeschooling.  We have this DVD course called Homestead Blessings.  So far we've learned about sewing, crafting, candlemaking and one other that I can't remember.  They're in the middle of the candle one and the kids are LOVING it!
That about wraps it up for now.  Til next time...
