like we'd just been diagnosed with Terminal Cancer? Knowing that each day might be our last... How would this change the way we lived each day> How would it change our interactions with family, friends, neighbours and strangers?
I'd like to write these thoughts in light of several friends and a couple family members receiving the cancer diagnosis.
Would we say we are too busy to get together with friends and family? Would we say harsh, impatient or unkind words to others?
Would we turn away the little ones requesting that we snuggle or read a book together?
Would we fritter away the hours looking at a computer or television screen?
Would we be focused on acquiring as many material possessions as we can?
Would we be complaining about the weather?
I honestly believe that the answer to all the questions above would be be answered with a definite NO.
We would want to spend our time making memories with our loved ones. Treating each day as a gift from God.
So, why not live like we've received that cancer diagnosis? What's to stop us from living like we don't have many days left?
I'd like to end this with a praise. One family has received encouraging news from the doctor. A couple weeks of radiation and she will be good to go. There are several people that we know who have come through cancer free. I hope they see that each day is still a gift. Time is something that we can never get back. Personally, I pray that the Lord would help me to be a wiser steward of the time He gives me than I have been in the past.
Two little lines I heard one day,
Traveling along life’s busy way;
Bringing conviction to my heart,
And from my mind would not depart;
Only one life, twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, yes only one,
Soon will its fleeting hours be done;
Then, in ‘that day’ my Lord to meet,
And stand before His Judgement seat;
Only one life,’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, the still small voice,
Gently pleads for a better choice
Bidding me selfish aims to leave,
And to God’s holy will to cleave;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, a few brief years,
Each with its burdens, hopes, and fears;
Each with its clays I must fulfill,
living for self or in His will;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
When this bright world would tempt me sore,
When Satan would a victory score;
When self would seek to have its way,
Then help me Lord with joy to say;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Give me Father, a purpose deep,
In joy or sorrow Thy word to keep;
Faithful and true what e’er the strife,
Pleasing Thee in my daily life;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Oh let my love with fervor burn,
And from the world now let me turn;
Living for Thee, and Thee alone,
Bringing Thee pleasure on Thy throne;
Only one life, “twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, yes only one,
Now let me say,”Thy will be done”;
And when at last I’ll hear the call,
I know I’ll say “twas worth it all”;
Only one life,’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last. ”
Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
And when I am dying, how happy I’ll be,
If the lamp of my life has been burned out for Thee

Missionary Focus For April 23rd-29th
I'd like to pick one of our Missionary Families each week to focus on and pray for. I realize that all of our missionaries need prayer every day and that is our desire. However, I think it would be a good reminder for our family and others to have a weekly focus. First on the Missionary Family and Second on the Mission Field(Country) that they are called to. There are some that we cannot write about, due to the religious restrictions in those countries. This week I want to focus on the Wonser Family.
The Wonser Family surrendered to go to the Philippines. They spent several years raising support and the Lord allowed them to move over there in 2011. It has not been an easy place to work, but I'm sure that they would agree that it's worth every sacrifice in order to see souls saved and lives changed for eternity! The Wonsers have 3 children and it's been a blessing to see the Lord giving them a burden to reach the people there. Recently, Victoria and the 2 girls were able to lead 3 young ladies to the Lord. Praise the Lord!!! The work with families that live in the cemetery! Can you imagine holding church services in a cemetery? Well, I think it would actually make for a very eye opening service. To remind us that we don't live forever. To remind us that we all, rich and poor, end up in the grave at some point. Can you imagine standing in the cemetery and hearing:
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: To hear that "the wages of sin are death" and then the good news that "the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23
There's no denying it when you're surrounded by graves.
We are so thankful for individuals and families that are willing to answer the call to serve the Lord. We are thankful for their faithfulness. They are human and many times wish that they could spend more time with their family. Yet, for the Lord's sake, they are willing to leave all and go. To lands far away to tell the lost how to be saved. To share how they can be 100% sure that they are going to Heaven when their life on earth is ended. Many times they go to places that don't even want them to be there. They share the Gospel with people who don't want to hear it. They pray many hours, walk many miles, give many tracts, hear many rejections, then repeat it all, praying that just one will come to accept the Lord as their personal Saviour.
One of the many wonderful things that the Lord has helped them to accomplish is the Philippine Dream Center. A place where families have moved out of the cemetery, learned important life skills and been discipled as new Believers. They are families that can now go and witness to others of how God can change a life from the inside out! Praise the Lord!
They go into the prisons and witness to them. How many of us would be willing to go into the prisons? Wherever the Lord opens the door, they seek to enter and share how to be saved. Please keep this family in your prayers. Please pray for wisdom in reaching the lost, their health, safety, family unity, financial needs and anything else that the Lord lays on your heart.
This prayer card is a couple years old, but gives you some faces to put with the family name.

Another Blessing!
Our family was pleasantly surprised last night by the announcement that Saskatchewan Libraries will be getting their full funding. There was a decision made to drastically cut the funding, in order to help balance the budget. We are thankful for a government that seeks to do so and respect their right to make hard decisions like that. It was going to reduce the available reading material, but we left it in the Lord's hands. The kids said they were thankful for all the books they'd already had the opportunity to read through the interlibrary loan system. We thanked the Lord for all the money we've saved over the years with homeschool supplements, etc... We left it in the Lord's hands and continued on as before. So, the reversal by the Government is yet another unexpected blessing! We thank the Lord for a provincial government that still listens to the concerns of the citizens. It is a rare thing these days...
