Los Angeles, California

A long awaited trip and Caleb's 1st plane ride. I believe it was all he was anticipating and then some. On the first flight one of the flight attendants took him to meet the pilots before the other passengers boarded. One of the pilot's let him wear their hat and showed him the cockpit. Pretty neat, eh/ Lillian did quite well on the flights, but was definitely happy to get off the 2nd plane. Caleb really enjoyed "meeting" his Uncle Luke, Auntie Jessie and cousins. He has not memory of our trip that we took to Georgia the month he turned 3.
Unfortunately Lillian decided to be clingy. It took several days before she let me out of her sight without crying. She learned how to climb stairs there, loved playing at the beach and enjoyed following the dog, guinea pig and bunny that they had in their house. We are thankful for safe travel, great memories, awesome food, and so much more. We enjoyed going to the beach, meeting their church family, playing games with the family, seeing a lighthouse and so much more. We're thankful that God was looking out for Scott and the other kids while we were gone. There was an accident on the Monday before we returned. You can read more about it in my next post, entitled, "Text Me".

Happy Tears

A very dear friend of ours passed into the loving arms of his beloved Saviour not too long ago . We are so thankful that the Lord allowed us to know one another during our journey here on earth. We are thankful for his testimony of faithfulness in marriage, ministry and on the mission field of India. One could say that the last two were one and the same, but in thinking of his life, there was so much more to his ministry than the 40 years that he spent in India. It was amazing to hear testimony of men who are continuing the work over there. To hear from his children and grandchildren of the impact that he had on their lives. The large church was packed out with people that had been touched by his life. We look forward to seeing him again in Heaven someday!

Saved To Serve

This new year I am so thankful for the Lord's patience in teaching me through His Word! Each day it seems He is showing me something I haven't seen before and many things that I have to be thankful for. He is giving songs of praise and thanksgiving and it's amazing to see how if affects the children. Several of them walk around singing hymns and Sunday School songs:). We look forward to our times in God's Word and times that we get to serve the Lord together. I'm so thankful that God has given us a place to serve Him. I want to be used of the Lord to witness and see people getting saved. This truly is my greatest desire. There is truly nothing more rewarding than seeing the Lord working in our hearts and those of our children. We're praying that God would open people's eyes to their spiritual need. There is much work to be done for the Lord and the laborers are few, but willing! Praying that the Lord would send forth more laborers to help us, but trusting that He will give us what He feels we need to do the work of the ministry. Praying that more Christians would wake up to the great need around them. It's so easy to get caught up in the day to day concerns and temptations of the world around us. I say that from experience. I don't want to go back to that. We've been saved to serve and want to be found doing His work when He returns!

When Jesus comes to reward His servants,
Whether it be noon or night,
Faithful to Him will He find us watching,
With our lamps all trimmed and bright?

Refrain:
Oh, can we say we are ready, brother?
Ready for the soul’s bright home?
Say, will He find you and me still watching,
Waiting, waiting when the Lord shall come?

If, at the dawn of the early morning,
He shall call us one by one,
When to the Lord we restore our talents,
Will He answer thee, “Well done”?

Have we been true to the trust He left us?
Do we seek to do our best?
If in our hearts there is naught condemns us,
We shall have a glorious rest.

Blessed are those whom the Lord finds watching,
In His glory they shall share;
If He shall come at the dawn or midnight,
Will He find us watching there?
