We were invited to hear a guest preacher in Saskatoon last month. It just happened that the only night we were able to make it was Thanksgiving(Canadian). We adjusted our plans to make it work and the kids were super excited. They'd been picking rocks to earn money and they'd each earned about $100! They had already decided that they wanted to buy cots at Cabelas
, plus a little treat. We headed out right after chores and got into the city shortly before lunch. Thankfully it was a nice day and we stopped to have a picnic lunch in the park. I apologize for the lack of pictures. we enjoyed running errands, especially reading and picking out books at the Value Village. The kids picked out their cots and Scott and I were able to get ours free at Canadian Tire, with our earned "dollars". I think we'll all be more comfortable the next time we go camping! While in the city we were able to visit with some friends before supper and return some books that I'd borrowed when we got back from our Georgia trip this past spring. We didn't have a lot of time, but enjoyed catching up and seeing the house they were fixing up. Praying it sells soon! We picked up the extra items that we needed to complete our "picnic" thanksgiving supper and headed to another park:). We had less time, but tried to make the most of it. The preaching that evening was worth the drive, even though we were quite tired and got home late. We're not really city people, so we really enjoy the "getting home" part of the trip! All in all, we're thankful for the memories and also for the protection that the Lord gave us on our journey.
